History

In 2005, the founders of HEED traveled to Uganda to help set up the new John T Miller Primary School. While on a ministry outreach to Central Uganda one of the poorest districts in Uganda, the pastors of the school came across a hurting community with many orphaned and vulnerable children. They brought 17 of the neediest of these children into a temporary space at the school. The need for care and support for those children together with the countless other orphaned and vulnerable children in their community birthed the vision of HEED Uganda.

The care of those first seventeen children formed what is now our Full Care Sponsorship Program, and later, in 2007 a Primary School was founded in their village to reach out to the hundreds of other children at risk children in this area.
